Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026, Route 66 remains the ultimate symbol of the great American road trip. This iconic 2,448-mile highway was officially designated on November 11, 1926, and originally stretched all the way from the skyline of Chicago to the shores of Santa Monica.
